If you can find ornamental gourds locally or online, you can form a Matryoshka blank to paint by shaping clay over a hollow chicken egg. The video includes directions.

You can hardly see them in this photo, but I used cleaned, clear plastic egg cartons as drying racks as I painted my gourds.
